Bridge Connect

Bridge Connect is a small app for your Mac or Windows computer. It connects the Suite tools in your browser to your own computer, so they can use your files, your sound card and the full power of your machine.

You don't need it to use Bridge Suite. Most of the Suite works fully in the browser. Connect adds the things a browser can't do on its own.

What it does

Your files stay on your computer. Connect only works with the folders you choose yourself, and only with the Suite websites you allow.

Your computer may show a warning

Bridge Connect is still a test version. It is not yet signed with an Apple or Microsoft developer certificate, so your computer can't check who made it and may warn you before opening it. That warning says the maker is unknown, not that something is wrong with the app. Signing will follow as soon as our developer accounts are active.

On a Mac

  1. Open the downloaded file and drag Bridge Connect Next to your Applications folder.
  2. Open the app. If macOS says it can't verify the developer, click Done.
  3. Go to System Settings, Privacy & Security, scroll down and click Open Anyway next to Bridge Connect Next.
  4. Confirm with your password. After this, the app opens normally.

On Windows

  1. Open the downloaded installer.
  2. If a blue "Windows protected your PC" window appears, click More info and then Run anyway.
  3. Follow the installer. Bridge Connect Next starts by itself when it's done.

Connect it to a tool

  1. Keep Bridge Connect Next running. You'll find it in the menu bar (Mac) or the system tray (Windows).
  2. Open the tool with one of the links below. They switch Connect on in that tool.
  3. The first time, the tool shows a short code and Connect asks whether this website may connect. Check that the codes match and click Allow connection in Connect. You only do this once per tool.

Updates

Connect checks for new versions by itself. When there's an update, it asks you first; you choose when to install and restart.
